4 Days Char Dham Yatra By helicopter
Overview
Do you have a dream? When you shut your eyes, are you able to see a new world? The world is filled with peace, harmony, calmness and above all, a world that heals the spirits. But the journey you have been longing for is finally here. We understand, life happens. There are deadlines and many other engagements, and sometimes urgencies. We understand that the busy city life drains all your energy, technically. We are here to bring your dreams come true. Somewhere you can think of yourself being surrounded by the lush greenery, in a small hamlet where you can relax your heart and mind. How about the forests of Uttarakhand, which stretch out as a vast green ocean. The moment you look up from the lush green forest, in front of you, at the Himalayas, it appears as if the Himalayas are created from clouds, and they are so much higher in elevation than where you are that you may truly understand how they have existed longer than we have as human beings.
We have got you 5 days Char Dham Yatra by Helicopter. This will feel so different compared to your general monotonous world. This is not a departure from the ordinary world; this is a transition, or you can say a crossover from the ordinary world to the extraordinary world. Although it's a 5-day trip departing and returning to Dehradun for 4 Nights and 5 Days is much larger than can be covered in an itinerary; it's all about a transformational experience and has not very much to do with logistics or an itinerary. In this holy journey, you will pay a visit to four different revered holy pilgrimage spots. These are the most important religious shrines that have been recorded in Hindu mythologies. Within the Garhwal region of the Himalayas, there are Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, all having immense prayer and dedication embedded into them by people for many, many years, and they have almost become a part of the mountains themselves.
There is a huge history behind the Char Dham pilgrimage, and thousands of devotees visit every year. Pilgrims have trekked for twelve hundred years to reach the sacred shrines located on these mountains. These holy places require a minimum of a week's travel, trekking through rough Himalayan patches, narrow pathways that become covered in ice during the winter months. There were some physical challenges experienced by the pilgrims that were not merely incidental to the pilgrimage; they were part of their prayer to the mountains and provided a common bond among generations of Sacred Pilgrims. The ancestors who followed the path of this holy journey today did not simply leave to visit these sacred places, but were transformed into completely different beings through their pilgrimage by continuously exhausting themselves during their journey. The tens of thousands of pilgrims who have now chosen to fly to the Sacred Places on this journey will not have transformed themselves into new beings through their pilgrimage; however, they may very well have fulfilled contracts made with deities or their late ancestors. They will have taken part in an entirely different experience than pilgrims took part in for twelve hundred years. Instead of arriving exhausted, dehydrated, and gasping for breath, they will arrive in a wakeful and present way.
Did you know that Uttarakhand is called Devbhoomi, or the 'Land of Gods'? There is a reason behind this name, and trust us, it is not just a marketing gimmick. Rather, there is a truth that anyone who spends any amount of time and days in these mountains instinctively knows, that the features of this landscape were arranged with intention. You will witness sharp, rough cliffs, canyons, high scale himalayan ranges with heights greater than 6,000 meters, glaciers pouring into thundering river valleys. All of the above represent a mystical region where things outside of the 'normal' realm are closer than anywhere else on earth. Apart from that, there are more than a thousand temples and shrines located in the land of gods, throughout Uttarakhand; the Vedic texts contain references to the various mountains, Puranic texts provide names for its many rivers; and it is said that the Mahabharata was written in a cave located approximately three kilometres from Badrinath. So, as you depart from the ground at Dehra Dun and see the towering snow-covered peaks of the Himalayas fill your view through your windscreen, you are transcending into a new land.
Highlights
Key highlights of the Divine journey
Our sole aim and goal is to make your dreams and wishes come true. We completely understand that there is always a time crunch. And probably we have a solution for you, meaning even if it's a short period of time, we can help you receive some peace, quietness and blessings. We are well aware that life happens; no one can escape that. The world today is busy with people operating on multiple busy schedules and juggling many things on their plates, and this is now pretty much the norm. Because of time constraints and other physical limitations, undertaking a trek to the sacred places may not be possible; however, we offer a great opportunity for you to do so with our company by flying to Chardham in helicopters instead of walking the traditional paths. You could do the journey that takes 10 days in only 4 nights/5 days, giving you the ability to do what you want at your own pace. You can also take a helicopter from Dehradun to the temples of Chardham, and again, we want it made clear that it is not a shortcut that you will take that will take anything away from your experience of the yatra; in fact, you will get the most authentic spiritual experience of yourself flying to do the Dhams than if you had hiked to them. And yes, taking a helicopter makes life easier for all of us, right?
Also, we highly recommend that you spend some time in Dehradun too. You'll have the opportunity to see all of the sights and sounds of Dehradun, which is the capital city of the very wonderful state of Uttarakhand. Here, you also get to visit an ancient stone temple at the end of a trek at the highest point in the Garhwal region of India. This trip only requires four nights and five days of your life, but forever change your life, the life of your companions, and the lives of everyone who comes in contact with you, as you're going to be able to share your experience with them for the remainder of their lives.
Starting from Yamunotri, the journey actually begins from Janki Chatti to the Yamunotri Temple, which is 6 km long, and it officially symbolises the beginning of your pilgrimage. It is a very beautiful and sacred start to the journey. You walk through an emerald, lush green valley, with the young Yamuna flowing beside you; you see prayer flags waving in the wind as you walk. Gangotri, a temple at the edge of the river, lies at an elevation of 3,100 metres. It represents the second stage of your Chardham pilgrimage: purification. The Bhagirathi River is crashing through the gorge below and creating sacred mist. You are surrounded by very tall mountains. Then the third pilgrimage is Kedarnath at 3583 meters, which is located in the vast glacial amphitheatre below Kedarnath Peak and Kedar Dome. Kedarnath is one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas, and it is a beautiful bucket-list place for almost every indian. It is one of the magnificent mountain temples that was built by the Pandavas and restored by Adi Shankaracharya. Lastly, the fourth and final location is the temple at Badrinath, which sits at an elevation of 3133 meters.
Yamunotri, The Beginning of Purity
The Yamunotri Temple, which is situated in the deep Garhwal Himalayas, is the starting point of the Char Dham Yatra. It is surrounded by breathtaking mountains, stunning hot springs and incredible beauty. According to Hinduism, a person who has taken the pilgrimage to the temple and receives darshan (seeing) of the Goddess Yamuna is protected from dying before their time, and their soul will be cleansed. There is also a glacier, called Champasar, located 13 km upstream from the actual source of the Yamuna River. The spiritual energy of Yamunotri is vibrant, alive and full of new life and spiritual development; and thus the pilgrimage assists in opening the devout spirit of the devotee.
Gangotri, the Holy Lifeline
A river with great significance to Hindus lies north east of Gangotri Temple, which is dedicated to the goddess Ganga. It is said that when Bhagirath prayed to God for the Ganges to reach the earth, he was rewarded by having the goddess come down from heaven and become the river we now know. The shrine is there in tribute to both the deity and her river. You can sit and have a time of self-reflection, asn as you sit on the serene riverside, the sounds of the flowing river will generate a sweet, holy sound, and provide a constant rhythm, allowing the mind to focus on an ethereal plane. Also, did you know that each of the major rivers that is the Bhagirathi’s source is the river Ganga. Then the Gaumukh glacier is roughly 18 km from Gangotri) begins at its respective glacier and ends at the sea. In the case of the Bhagirathi, the name was derived from its physical appearance being similar to a cow's mouth. Many pilgrims are deeply moved by being next to the frigid waters of the Bhagirathi, frequently praying in memory of deceased relatives and friends at the site.
Kedarnath, The Holiest Shiva Temple
Kedarnath is a key site of spiritual energy for thousands of pilgrims embarking on the Char Dham Yatra. Kedarnath is located at an elevation of 11,755 ft Kedarnath Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and one of the most sacred temples in the world dedicated to Shiva. Once you arrive in Kedarnath, you will experience an abundance of energy, strength, and spirituality. The old stone temple is surrounded by towering, snow-covered mountains, and all around the valley. As you reach near the temple, you will hear the holy chantings of "Har Har Mahadev." During the 2013 flood disaster in Uttarakhand, a massive rock made possible the diversion of floodwaters that had entered the temple, thus protecting the main shrine from damage/death from floodwaters. Many faithful believe this to be a sign from God. The experience of Kedarnath darshan has resulted in overwhelming emotions for many pilgrims due to the unexpected and personal nature of this experience, yielding total surrender to Lord Shiva through their relationship with Him and bringing them healing, strength, and a connection to the Divine.
Transcendental Badrinath: The Divine and the Tranquil
Badrinath Temple is a very different energy from the other dhams, because of its position as the last dham. This gives the entire temple a very peaceful and warm atmosphere. As a spiritual oasis for pilgrims/guests, it is located between the majestic mountains of Nar and Narayan. It will provide you with a feeling of being in heaven when you see the sunrise or sunset on Neelkanth Mountain. Did you know that the Badrinath Temple is one of the 108 Divya Desams? This means this temple ranks among the highest of Vishnu temples for Vaishnavism because of its religious significance. When worshipping at this dham, many pilgrims find that while they may have had to deal with many challenges before coming to the dham, they will feel much more tranquillity after being there for a time.

Our team will provide you with a briefing about the overview of the entire trip, safety protocols, a full day itinerary briefing showing where to travel to the Yamunotri temple, how to collect your Prasad from Surya Kund and the procedures surrounding it, as well as details regarding the altitude and trek conditions you will face during your trip. Everything will be explained in detail. The views that you will encounter during this journey will put you in awe. Maybe, for the first time in your life, you will witness something so real, an exceptional aerial view of the pilgrim’s transition from an urban man-made sphere to the Himalayas’ sacred mountains. Once arriving at the Kharsali helipad, pilgrims must go to the Yamunotri Temple. As you arrive, you will be welcomed by the holy atmosphere, which is actually a spiritually refreshing atmosphere. As you arrive at the Yamunotri Temple to offer your prayers to Goddess Yamuna and receive her blessings for health, longevity, and the purging of sins. Overnight stay in Kharsali.
Today, after completing the first leg of the holy place tour, you will fly over the most picturesque valley of Uttarakhand. There is a very interesting history related to the valley. You will hear it directly from the villagers. Harsil is quite famous for apple orchards, pine trees and breathtaking views of the mountains all around you. This area exudes an unparalleled peacefulness, which makes it ideal for a moment of quiet reflection before experiencing darshan at Gangotri Temple. Once you reach Gnagotri, you will be welcomed by the huge Bhagirath Gorge. You can see the goddess Ganaga from here in the most pure and powerful form, flowing with the most fierceness. As you arrive near the shrine, there are a few steps we recommend each pilgrim and devotee follow. The first thing that you need to do is visit the Divya Shila, a sacred rock that all pilgrims visit before entering the main temple. Go then to the Bhagirath Shila, a flat rock located just outside of the temple and a place where King Bhagirath did his famous meditation, to call the goddess Ganga from heaven to redeem the souls of his ancestors and also a historic location. The cold Bhagirathi River flows right alongside the temple, adding to the deep meditative experience that pilgrims seek. Many pilgrims will spend time sitting by the river listening to the gentle sounds of the rushing water and internally reflecting. The overall experience of being here provides an incredible sense of spiritual renewal. Pilgrims will stay overnight in Harsil.
This is the day you have been waiting for. You might feel really emotional. This will be one of the most powerful emotional days of your entire pilgrimage. As you take the flight and land at Kedarnath Temple, you will be able to take advantage of a VIP darshan. As you reach there, visit the inner sanctum and offer your prayers. The sight of Kedarnath’s distinctive temple framed by the snowy peaks of the Himalayas is often overwhelming for travellers. The atmosphere at Kedarnath is intense yet comforting; it feels powerful and tranquil at the same time; it has both a long-standing heritage and a very modern presence. After completing your visit and making your prayers at Kedarnath, you will continue the pilgrimage with your visit to Badrinath Temple. Where Kedarnath may provide drama, Badrinath will provide calmness and elegance. Pilgrims will have a chance to offer prayers to Lord Vishnu and visit some other spiritual locations, depending on available time and weather. Pilgrims will spend the night in Badrinath.
It is suggested to try to make it on time for the early morning prayers at the Badrinath shrine if you can wake up early. You will then be able to take a dip in Tapt Kund as a final farewell. Eat an excellent vegetarian breakfast that was cooked nicely. You will leave from Badrinath by vehicle to Guptkashi, and then by helicopter to either Phata or Sirsi helipad, which will take approximately 40-50 minutes to get there. Take lots of pictures on this trip and use this experience to help create inner peace within yourself. In Dehradun, you can either explore Doon Valley or wait to fly to your final destination.
