The Door to Salvation – Chardham Yatra

Char Dham are four Abodes in Himalayas together called as “Chota Char Dham of India” and Adi Shankaracharya who was Great Saint and Philosopher group together these Scared Pilgrimage site into religious circuit during the 8th century. “Char Dham yatra package” which consist of four holy places of Hindus: Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. All of these temples are situated within the Garwhal region of Uttarakhand state in North India. Uttarakhand is known as Dev Bhoomi (Land of Gods), as it is the land of great pilgrimages, holy temples and places, which are a focus for millions of pilgrims and spiritual seekers to get enlightenment. Char Dham Yatra is one the most admired pilgrimage itinerary, with millions of devotees paying worship to all these spiritual places in aspiration of eliminates all sins and to attain salvation by the blessings of the Lord. Every Year More than 350,000 pilgrims Visit Chardham from various parts of India. Char Dham is also growing popular among foreign tourists, who are blessed to see the heavenly natural beauty and Himalayas with a chance to know more about culture of India.

Shri Badrinath Dham: is measured the most scared of the four important temples. The town is located on the left bank of river Alaknanda and precisely between the two mountains Nara and Narayan and the shadow of Nilkantha peak. This temple is devoted to Vishnu the preserver and protector of Hindu Divine Trinity.

Shri Kedarnath Dham: Situated in the middle of mountainscapes of the majestic Kedarnath range stands one of the twelve ‘ Jyotirlingas’ of Kedar or Lord shiva. Kedarnath is devoted to Lord Shiva, one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, Kedar is another name of Lord Shiva the destroyer.  The temple of Kedarnath is amongst the holiest pilgrimage for the Hindus.

Gangotri Dham: The temple of Gangotri located amidst charming surroundings along the right bank of Bhagirathi and Gangotri are dedicated to Goddess Ganga. The temple’s opening is preceded by a special Puja of Ganga both inside the temple as well as on the river bank.

Yamunotri Dham: The temple of Yamuna (Yamunotri), on the left bank of the Yamuna, was built by Maharaja Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal and the temple is made of black marble.. This temple is the starting place of Yamunotri River and the devoted to Godess Yamuna, it is the westernmost temple in the Garhwal Himalayas.
