Travel Guide in Andaman Tourism

From beach enthusiasts to history aficionados and adventure seekers, the Andaman is an ideal destination for all types of visitors. Beginning your journey at Port Blair, the capital, tour the Samudrika Marine Museum on North Bay Island and Cellular Jail. From there, get a ferry to Havelock Island—known for its diving sites, Elephant Beach, and Radhanagar Beach. Just a short distance away and ideal for snorkeling and leisure walks is Neil Island. See the turtle nesting sites at Diglipur, North Andaman, Ross and Smith Islands, and Saddle Peak for a unique experience. Between islands, use government or commercial catamarans. For local exploring, rent cabs or bikes. Plan offline; usually, rural areas have limited internet connection. Bring money; digital payments might not always be sensible. Especially in marine parks and tribal areas, obey local customs and environmental regulations. Smaller islands have the necessary prescriptions since their medical facilities are basic. Though the islands are safe, use extreme care with tides and obey water activity guidelines. The Andaman Islands provide a special, energising refuge that combines leisurely beach time with planned activities.

Getting to Andaman by Air: Veer Savarkar Airport in Port Blair connects with major cities such as Chennai, Kolkata, and Delhi. Frequent flights provide the most practical and quick choice available.

Sea travel from the mainland: From Chennai, Kolkata, and Visakhapatnam, passenger ships call at Port Blair. We recommend the three- to four-day trip for individuals seeking a marine adventure, despite its high cost.

Local Transport – Ferries: Ferries connect the islands for both commercial purposes and under government regulation. Book ahead, particularly for Neil and Havelock. Fast ferries save time and provide more comfort.

Renting scooters and bikes is available on major islands, including Neil and Havelock. This is the greatest way to see nearby beaches, villages, and beautiful treks at your own pace.

Hiring Private Cabs: Ideal for families or parties, cabs provide convenience and can be pre-booked, especially for early morning crossings or far-off destinations.

 No Uber/Ola Services:
There are no taxi services based on applications. Plan accordingly, since most people hire automobiles, hotel cabs, or local tour organizations.

Documents to carry:
Every Indian merely needs an ID. Usually presented upon arrival at the airport, tourists must have passports and get a Restricted Area Permission (RAP).
