Festivals in Jaipur

Jaipur residents celebrate festivals with a lot of color, excitement, and tradition. During Diwali, the city is full of gorgeous decorations on homes, palaces, and streets. The Jaipur Literature Festival in January is one of the most famous events. It brings together book lovers, writers, and smart people from all around the world. Women wear bright clothes, carry adorned idols, and sing and dance in parades during the traditional holidays of Teej and Gangaur. There is a lot of gulal and folk music in the air during Holi. During Kite Festival (Makar Sankranti) in the middle of January, the sky is full of colorful kites. During the Elephant Festival, elegantly decorated elephants participate in parades, polo sports, and tug-of-war. Another one-of-a-kind event is the Jaipur International Film Festival and Vintage Car Rally. During Navratri and Dussehra, fairs and cultural events exhibit the customs of the area. Jaipur has always been a cultural center since every festival is more than just a party. Folk dances, traditional music, and local food engage the locals.
