How to Reach in Jaisalmer

You may easily reach Jaisalmer by plane, train, or car. The city has its airport, JSA; however, it only has a few flights, mostly to and from Jaipur, Delhi, and Ahmedabad. Another option is the Jodhpur airport, which is 300 miles away and has more connections. The Jaisalmer Express and Ranikhet Express are two trains that go from Jaisalmer Railway Station to big cities, including Delhi, Jaipur, and Jodhpur. The Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) offers sleeper and deluxe buses from Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Jaipur. You can drive through the Thar Desert in a private cab or your car on a magnificent road with stops along the way. You can easily locate bike rentals, cabs, and autorickshaws in the city. Tour companies that go to the desert will also pick you up at the airport or train station. If you want to avoid the heat, it's best to travel in the morning or late afternoon. Booking ahead of time makes travel smoother and more enjoyable throughout the festival season. Getting to this golden haven by plane, train, or car is half the fun. Always have money on hand for the last half of your vacation. Make sure you can get to a secluded area before you go.

By Air—Jaisalmer Airport (JSA): There are seasonal flights to and from Jaisalmer Airport, principally to and from Delhi and Jaipur. It's the fastest way to get to the city during the busiest tourist season, although planes may not always be accessible.

Nearby Jodhpur Airport (JDH): If you can't get a ticket to Jaisalmer, Jodhpur Airport is a wonderful backup. It joins fields in India and is 300 miles away. You may easily reach there by train or car.

By Train—Direct Connections: There are direct trains from the Jaisalmer Railway Station to Delhi, Jaipur, and Jodhpur. The Ranikhet Express and the Jaisalmer Express are two famous trains that take you through breathtaking desert vistas at night.

By Road—Scenic Drives: National Highways connect Jaisalmer to the cities of Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Jaipur. The route is easy to reach and has well-kept roads, so you can see much of the desert's beauty.

Bus Services: The Rajasthan State Transport Corporation (RSRTC) and private companies both run buses with air conditioning and places to sleep. These highways connect Jaisalmer to other major cities in Rajasthan and are a cheap and safe way to get around.

 Private Cabs and Rentals:
You can hire private cabs from cities nearby to give you more choices. This choice is excellent for travellers who want to stop in destinations like Osian or Pokhran along the way.

Local Transport in Jaisalmer: Auto-rickshaws, tuk-tuks, and two-wheelers are all ways to get around the city. Many tourists often rent scooters and cabs before they arrive, so they can get around quickly and visit the sights and desert locations.
