Including the Gaumukh Trek, which is 19 kilometres through the Gangotri National Park at an altitude of 4,023 metres. This is the place where the holiest river of India gets her first breath from the glacier face. That is River Ganga. You will be starting from Haridwar, the gateway to the land of sacredness. This is where the Ganga touches the plains for the first time. As the river Ganga passes through the sacred mountains of Garhwal Himalayas, the river takes a plunge in holy confluences and attracts thousands of tourists. This confluence makes the entire town filled with sacred devotion. And then, traveling up to Yamunotri where the sister of the God of Death frees people of an untimely death. Reaching Gangotri, where the king's devotion brought a Goddess down to the earth. Trekking to Gaumukh, where Ganga comes out as a river from an ancient glacier. Ascending to Tapovan, the valley of meditation of sadhus under the majestic peaks. Finally standing in front of Kedarnath Jyotirlinga, where the presence of Lord Shiva himself is more than worship.

This entire journey is quite experiential, as you travel through the sacred land of Gharwal Himalayas. Every corner you will be surrounded by transcending himalayan ranges covered with snow and the sky meets. This whole entire journey is surrounded by beautiful scenic landscapes. This Char Dhan Yatra package with Gaumukh Trek includes walking along the pathway of ancient cities to see the holy rivers joining together, it's simply awe inspiring. The Holy Char Dham Circuit includes four Holy Dhams- Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. Apart from the four holy Dhams, this package also includes Trek to Gaumukh, which is the birth place of the sacred river Ganga. The pilgrims embark upon the journey of self transformation and healing. It is indeed a complete package for mind, body and soul.  Each individual Dham has a very important value and it’s quite significant according to spiritual Hindu mythology texts. Every dham plays an equally important role, whereby, moving from one dham to another makes people realize themselves and start a new life. Each Dham has spiritual energy which helps devotees in spiritual cleansing. Such as:

Yamunotri, It is the birth place of the River Yamuna. Did you know, it is also considered as the spiritual birthplace of the Char Dham's pilgrimage route.  Also known as the Holy abode of goddess Yamuna. This place is located in the serene Himalayan valley. The key significance of Temple here is the liberation from untimely death. One can even witness the hot spring nearby, where devotees offer Prasad, and the whole area emanates the fragrance of Holiness.

Gangotri,  it is the birthplace of the River Ganga, who is also known as Mother Ganga, famously. Did you know that, River Ganga is regarded as the lifeline of mankind. Gangotri is situated amidst enchanting Himalayan terrain, and is also the abode of spiritual kindness, Holiness, and sins forgiveness. It is widely believed that the river Ganga purifies the sins of mankind.

Kedarnath, well revered locations known for one the twelve jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the most important, sacred and perhaps the most spiritually soul-stirring Dham on the Char Dham pilgrimage circuit. Not only the view, but the Kedarnath shrine itself holds historical significance. According to mythology, the old temple is spiritually changing and its very presence exudes holiness. Every seeker comes here with the intention to seek strength, salvation and spiritual liberation. It can be quite an overwhelming experience, but transformative.  Also, another unique factor is the burning of the Akhand Jyoti for more than  six months during the winter scene when there are no humans around and everything is submerged in snow. You can see the starry skies above the glacial valleys. The morning aarti just before sunrise when the golden rays of the sun kiss the Kedarnath peak through the open doors of the temple. This is what makes this Dham so unique.

Badrinath, it is the last Dham amongst the four Dham. This Dham, symbolizes the holy abode of Lord Vishnu, who is known as the preserver of the universe. It is located on the banks of River Alaknanada. This Dham is surrounded by a massive Neelkanth peak. We highly recommend, before you enter the holy shrine you have to take a holy dip in Taptkund, the natural hot spring. . Taking a dip in holy water will cleanse both your body and soul. It’s a fulfilling experience visiting Darshan of Lord Badri Narayan.

And after a great spiritual experience in chat Dham, now you will move forward to one of the most sacred treks. Namely, Gaumukh trek it is one of the most enthralling treks.  According to old mythologies, it is believed that here King Bhagirath performed a thousand years of meditation to summon Goddess Ganga from the heavens.. Gaumukh is the birth place of the River Ganga. Onwards lies the path through Chirbasa, which is known for its chir pine trees that fill the atmosphere with their characteristic resin scent. And we highly suggest that you must take Gangajal with you as a mark of respect as well as remembrance. According to research and scientific reports, Gangajal contains special qualities to combat bacteria. Special kinds of viruses such as bacteriophages are found here in Gangajal which helps Gangajal to remain fresh for a longer period of time. It cannot be found in any other river. In order to reach Gaumukh, you have to make a trek of about 19 kilometers going through the Gangotri National Park where you will come across lots of birch trees along with crossing several moraines. First you will visit Bhojbasa at 3,775m. From here you will get an undivided view of the summit of Shivling during sunsets. Then, you will finally reach Gaumukh at 4,023 meters, where the Bhagirathi originates from the glacier lake shaped like the mouth of a cow. Well, this is just a brief. Words cannot explain the true feelings, unless you yourself experience it.

Highlights

Welcome to the two spiritual gateways to Himalayas

This Char Dham Yatra package with Gaumukh Trek  includes two famous holy towns as the starting point , Haridwar and Rishikesh. Both the destinations are next to the sacred river of Ganga. Haridwar is famously known as the Gateway to God and is one of the seven most sacred places for Hindus. It is also one of the oldest sacred inhabited places in the world. When you are in Haridwar, you must experience the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri, which is performed every evening. This Gang arti is performed everyday, without a day skip, for more than thousands of years now. You won’t believe it, but this is the exact moment, seekers wait for. This is the time you can put your heart to rest and offer prayers with an ultimate view of thousands of earthen lamps floating in River Ganga.
Following up is Rishikesh famously known as the yoga capital of India.  From the time immemorial, it has attracted countless sages and seekers over centuries. People come here to experience deep spiritual contemplation. When you are in Rishikesh, You must visit two suspension bridges, one is Ram Jhula and then Laxman Jhula. It is one of the most wonderful experiences you will have, as you  walk on the suspension bridges over the holy waters of the Ganga. You will be able to see some of the ancient ashrams rising from the tree-covered banks of Ganga on both sides.
By the way, did you know there is a very interesting fact related to Haridwar, being the site for the Kumbh Mela. which is the largest and oldest Mela of peaceful humanity on Earth. More than 70 million people gather here. Did you know that, the gate of Kumbh Mela, is determined by the precise positioning of Jupiter, the Sun, and the Moon through Vedic astronomers’ calculations.

Barkot and Uttrakashi, the Northern Kashi’s

You will cross Barkot, a small himalayan hamlet filled with nature’s beautiful landscape. Barkot is where you will start to truly experience clean fresh air, deep green lush valleys and taste home-cooked Garhwali dishes. Then you will also come across the Northern Kashi, famously known as Uttarkashi. It is also home to the famous Vishwanath Temple. Vishwanath Temple is the largest Shiva temple in the region of Uttarakhand. Did you know that, the huge trishula is believed to have belonged to Goddess Durga and used by her during her fight against evil within the confines of that temple's courtyard. Finally, the Bhagirathi River flows level with the cold air exposed by the river's cold surface and all the surrounding ancient ghats. Uttrakashi is Located on the banks of the river Bhagirathi, which ultimately divides into the Ganga River at Devprayag, as you stand at the banks of the ghats (where the Bhagirathi river runs) and see how quickly the river is rushing through the ghats in front of you, you will also know the river which began its journey at Gaumukh Glacier, above Gangotri, is the same glacier that you will trek to in three days'.
Uttrakashi also has a very interesting fact. Also, Uttarkashi is home to the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, one of Asia's most reputed institutions for high-altitude climbing. Many great climbers of India, have their roots back to this school.

Four Major Dhams Highlights, the ultimate destination

Starting from Yamunotri, the journey actually begins from Janki Chatti to the Yamunotri Temple which is  6 km long, and it officially symbolizes the beginning of your pilgrimage. It is a very beautiful and sacred start to the journey. You walk through an emerald lush green valley, with the young Yamuna flowing beside you; you see prayer flags waving in the wind as you walk.
Gangotri, a temple at the edge of the river, lies at an elevation of 3,100 metres. It represents the second stage of your Chardham pilgrimage: purification. The Bhagirathi River is crashing through the gorge below and creating sacred mist. You are surrounded by very tall mountains.

Then the third pilgrimage is Kedarnath at 3583 meters, which is located in the vast glacial amphitheatre below Kedarnath Peak and Kedar Dome. Kedarnath is one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas. It is one of the magnificent mountain temples which was built by the Pandavas and restored by Adi Shankaracharya. Lastly, the fourth and the final location is the temple at Badrinath sits at an elevation of 3133 meters. It is situated on the sacred banks of River Alaknanda surrounded by the towering snow covered peaks of Neelkanth Peak also known as the Queen of Garhwal. This is the only temple in the whole himalayan valley dedicated to the lord Vishnu. Also, it has quite a meaningful history associated with it. According to one of Hindu legends: When Shiva built this valley, it was for the purpose of his personal place to meditate. He did not want to give up any part of the valley. But, as you know, love is the ultimate thing.  He loved Vishnu so unconditionally that he transcended all sense of donating it to Vishnu.

The Gaumukh Trek, the source point

In addition to the holy pilgrimage, this package offers you an ultimate once in a lifetime opportunity to witness the source of River Ganga. The most sacred lifeline for many generations, even today.
