Yamunotri: One of its kind Ymunotri is the first Dham that a pilgrim visits. The Dham devoted to Maa Yamuna the daughter of Sun God and sister of Yama the death God. She is said to be blessed by her brother that one praying her here and taking a dip in her pure water will be saved from untimely or accidental death. Devotees pray in the shrine along with this the Pavitra Shila on which it is said that she first touched the earth is also prayed by the pilgrims. As also people prepare prasad of rice and potato in the nearby Tapt-Kund. The Mukti from untimely death makes one feel safe for life and also the blessings turn your life into a divine one. The journey for the Dham turns to be highly pious and started with Yamunotri it ensures healthy healing of your heart. 

Gangotri: located in Garhwal Himalayas this is the site for the origin of the holiest river of India, the Ganga. Ganga came from the Glacier named Gaumukh which is a trek distance from here and also performed along with Gangotri. This is the place where Ganga touched the earth from the locks of Lord Shiva. Considered to be highly pious Ganga is prayed here as Bhagirathi, named after king Bhagirath who prayed her appearance for the betterment of human civilization. A Shila nearby prayed by the pilgrims called Bhagirath Shila showing homage to King Bhagirath. 

Gumukh: The snout of Gangotri Glacier is the Gaumukh, situated in 18 kilometres trek distance from Gangotri is the place where ma Ganga came down to the mortal world. People visit the Tpovan nearby also which is said to be was the residence of Lord Ram during his exile of fourteen years. This is the place that is surrounded by raw Himalayan beauty making it one of awe-striking beautiful place in the whole Chardham Yatra with Gaumukh. 

Kedarnath: Kedarnath, located in 3583 m height in Garhwal Himalayas, is an 8th century shrine dedicated to lord Shiva. It signifies the ultimate liberation, resilience and accompanies the breathtaking beauty of peaks like Kedar Dome. Here Lord Shiva is considered as Swayambhu means appearing by himself and not manifested by humans. His presence here is for spiritual liberation and salvation. This is also one of the 12 jyotirlingas in India and considered to be the holiest place to get the blessings of Lord Shiva who can curate your journey towards salvation smooth. 

Badrinath Dham: Dedicated to Lord Vishnu this is said to be the Dham where He manifested to save the human kind from the cycle of life and death. It is believed to be the place where lord Vishnu performed meditation and hence here, he is prayed in meditative form only.  He prayed under a Badri tree. The Badri tree is said to be the disguised form of Maa Lakshmi who provided shade to Lord Vishnu for meditation. He meditated in Nara Narayan Mountain nearby that is also visited by the pilgrims. The Tapt Kund nearby is also believed to cleanse souls. 

Snuggled in Deep Himalaya in the Garhwal part these four Dhams are all naturally highly beautiful. Their presence in the Himalay gives them a different significance.
