It is constructed with an Indo-Saracenic style structure set in the 450-acre rain forest. And as compared to the fast paced life in Delhi or Mumbai or Hyderabad, Dehradun surely feels like a fresh breath of air.  Did you know? The Forest Research Institute is one of the most beautiful buildings built in colonial times. It has the world’s oldest forestry museum and is surrounded by ancient and deliberate and tranquil forests. Well, we personally think that this might be enough reason for you to arrive at Dehradun before its closing at last light, so you can see the beautiful scenery from the perspective of the Institute as well as that of its unique and interesting structure. Not only in Dehradun, but if you are here a couple of days early we would also recommend a short day trip to Mussorrie which is known as the queen of hill stations. It is only about 35km and in the mountains above Dehradun, where you will get the glimpse of the entire himalayan range especially on the clear sky days.
